Care and Cleaning

The bottom sash of both single-hung and double hung window tilt in for easy cleaning. The upper sash of the double - hung window also tilts in. Both glass panels can be cleaned by using a lintless cloth, sponge or chamois to clean the glass. The use of rubber squeege will speed glass drying.

A mild household detergent solution may be used to clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the main window and sash frames of Crystal windows.

Do not use harsh abrasive particle detergents, paint removers or solvents for cleaning. The use of harsh powdered detergents can cause scratches & ruin the surface.

To make sashes glide up & down smoothly, simply spray lubricant sparingly on the balances (The mechanical parts, either coil or spiral, that counter balance the weight of the sashes) You may clean the balances with alcohol or a soap solution.

Caution: When using any cleaning agents, follow the product manufacturer's precautionary safety recommendation on the container label. Always protect against contact of the solution with eyes or skin.
