July 26, 2000 marked the beginning of a new organization that is dedicated to the well being of global economics and the welfare of the people. This initiative was first proposed by former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, he urged many business owners to join in his fight for an ideal business world. Built upon 10 principles that were subcategorized from four different aspects, human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, the GC hopes to bring "a more sustainable and inclusive global economy".

Crystal Window & Door believed in Secretary-General Kofi Annan's vision and we are proud to be part of the Global Compact.

The Global Compact is based upon 10 Principles that Crystal Window and Door gladly follows...

   

Principle 1: Business should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights

  • Crystal was able to muster an exchange of educational and cultural programs, economic projects, technology investment between cities both in the US and China.

Principal 2: Business should ensure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses

  • Management Personnel stationed in China travel to the U. S. Crystal Factory in New York for educational and development purposes, eager to shape better work ethnics in Crystal Operation in China.
   

Principle 3: Business should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.

  • No recorded activities

Principle 4: Business should support the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor.

  • All employees has received and acknowledged the contents within the Employee Guide

Principle 5: Business should support the effective abolition of child labor

  • Crystal Window & Doors acknowledges a child's education is more important and supports causes dedicated to such

Principle 6: Business should support the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation

  • A degree of diversity exist within the Crystal labor force
   

Principle 7: Business should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges

  • Crystal is affiliated with Energy Star and carries 3 lines of their certified products

Principle 8: Business should undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.

  • Crystal Window and Doors trained contractors in proper installation to increase energy efficiency

Principle 9: Business should encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies

  • Crystal Company joined with TingWall System to produce energy efficient curtain walls
   

Principle 10: Business should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

  • Crystal personnel hold meetings to discuss and review the company's involvement in political affairs
