Project Summary
This vintage 1950's office building, the former American headquarters for the Nestlé Company, recently underwent a gut rehabilitation, which included replacement of all the original aluminum windows. The window replacement project involved 711 insulated glass Crystal Series 2000 custom color double-hung tilt aluminum windows with a unique "oriel" style sash configuration. The new Crystal "oriel" windows have unequal sash heights with the top sash about twice the height of the bottom sash. The project team selected this design to simulate the look of the original "fixed over hopper" windows, yet permit easy tilt-in cleaning and maintenance at a cost effective price. |
