CRYSTAL WINDOWS MARKS FIRST YEAR OF SALES AND PRODUCTION IN CHINA
- Pilot Operation Produces Vinyl Window Extrusion Systems For Domestic Chinese Market

FLUSHING, NY, November 10, 2008 - Crystal Window & Door Systems, the award winning fenestration manufacturer, recently marked the first year anniversary of its pilot production and sales operation in Suzhou, China. The pilot facility is pioneering the production of various fenestration products and their sale and distribution to the expanding domestic Chinese market. The recently constructed 60,000 square foot plant is located in the Xiangcheng Industrial District of Suzhou City in Jiangsu Province, about 40 miles west of Shanghai. The new factory is owned and operated by Crystal Window & Door Advanced Technology Company, a division of Crystal's overseas subsidiary, Crystal Global.

Currently, the Suzhou facility is producing vinyl window profile extrusion systems for sale to domestic Chinese market window fabricators. The packaged vinyl window system design and extrusion is sold under the Crystal brand name throughout populous northeast China, where climate and window styles closely mirror those of the United States. Sales are facilitated through two corporate sales offices in the cities of Shanghai and Shenyang.

The Suzhou pilot facility allows Crystal to fine-tune all aspects of production and sale to the Chinese market, including materials sourcing, worker training, product distribution and marketing. Other products being considered for manufacture in Suzhou include residential grade vinyl windows, aluminum windows and fiberglass entrance doors. As production increases, the company plans to increase the number of employees from 40 to about 100.

Crystal Windows, owned and founded by Taiwan immigrant Thomas Chen, is using its bi-cultural American and Chinese background to fulfill the vast and rapidly growing Chinese construction market's demand for quality window and door products. Familiarity with the Chinese language, culture and business practices combined with Crystal's ability to transfer American product designs and production practices are key strategic advantages for penetrating the domestic Chinese market.

The Suzhou facility will also provide Crystal with valuable experience as an industrial business park real estate developer and operator. Crystal is exploring the concept of facilitating North American investment at the Suzhou site and in other business and industrial parks in China and Asia. The Suzhou corporate/industrial park where Crystal is located has two new factory facilities and a 7-story 100,000-square foot office building under construction. The site also has significant real estate set aside for additional factories and future multi-family apartment housing for the workforce.
