Steve Chen of Crystal Windows Honored by Queens Library Foundation
Manufacturing Executive Recognized for Support of Education Initiatives

FLUSHING, NY, OCTOBER 16, 2006 - Crystal Window & Door Systems Executive Vice President Steve Chen was recently honored by The Queens Library Foundation for his contributions to the community, particularly through educational initiatives. He was recognized at the Foundation's Annual Dinner Dance on October 4, before a group of over 350 at the prestigious Water's Edge Restaurant. The event raised a record amount of over $240,000 in support of the Queens Library system. Maria Grasso of Flushing Savings Bank was also recognized that evening.

In his acknowledgement remarks, Steve Chen noted, "I spent many afternoon hours at my local branch of the Queens Library when I was growing up in Queens. It made a tremendous impact on me, and now I can give something back. I am grateful to The Queens Library Foundation for this recognition, and to be involved with such a worthwhile institution."

Steve continued, "My family and our company Crystal Windows have always believed in the power of education. Crystal has been actively involved with educational initiatives in the community for as long as I can remember, and I am pleased to be in a position now to carry on that tradition." As the head of day-to-day operations at Crystal, Steve Chen has supported reading programs at local elementary schools, continues to work with Queensborough Community College where his father Thomas Chen established a scholarship endowment, and supports cultural institutions with a focus on education.

Thomas Chen, Crystal's president and founder, appointed his son Steve to his current role nearly two years ago, marking the beginning of leadership transition to the next generation for the company.
