Crystal Windows Offer InstallationMasters Certification Courses
Qualified Tradespersons Invited to Attend National Fenestration Training Courses
Builders, carpenters, home improvement contractors and other qualified
construction tradespersons involved with the installation of windows
and exterior glass doors in residential homes and light commercial
buildings are invited to attend national training and certification
courses to be offered by Crystal Window & Door Systems this fall.
Previously, Crystal offered these 2-day programs only to its trade
customers, but recently the company expanded the opportunity to employees
of all firms involved in the field. The upcoming courses are scheduled
for October 30-31 and November 14-15, 2006.
The course presented by Crystal is the window and door installation training and certification program developed
by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) for the Installation Masters Institute. This course is viewed as the
standard for professionalism with residential and light commercial fenestration contractor personnel, and provides many benefits for
participating installer firms and personnel - the ability to document their professionalism, review of current proper installation
techniques and practices, improved installation efficiency at the job site, reduction of customer callbacks and establishment of a
marketable competitive edge.
The 2-day program is divided into two segments - the 1-½ day Installation Masters course covering basic aspects
of quality window and door installations, with particular emphasis on the prevention of water penetration; and an optional ½-day test
session allowing course participants to demonstrate their knowledge to obtain national program certification. Program training and
test administration can only be conducted by window manufacturer personnel who have been certified by the Installation Masters
Institute as accredited installation instructors. Crystal has two qualified instructors on staff and is proud to offer the course
to its trade customers and other area construction contractors.
The technical course is intended for qualified experienced construction personnel and is not open to the general
public. To qualify to register for this installation training program, an individual must have at least 12 months of documented
experience installing windows and doors in residential and light commercial applications. Training courses and certification
testing are conducted at Crystal's headquarters and production facility in Flushing (Queens), NY. Crystal charges course participants
no fee. However, the Installation Masters Institute national administrator for the program requires a $300 fee for training materials
and the certification test, scoring and national registration. Interested contractor professionals are encouraged to contact Crystal's
Marketing Department at 718-961-7300 ext. 3408 for registration forms and further information.
